MEET KRISTINA BEHR

Kristina grew up around television studio sets as if they were her playground. All of her haircuts as a young child were done by the same stylists who worked on Susan Lucci’s trademark mane. (True story!) At 16 she was able to attend the Daytime Emmy Awards as her mother’s date. You could say her childhood was anything but normal because she was born into a family who made their living creating ‘TV magic,’ and she credits them for who she is today.

Kristina, however, chose a different path working her way up on her own. She started interning for various shows by the time she was 15.  She earned a BS from Boston University in Broadcast Journalism, and has worked both on and off-camera for MTV, Vh1, ABC, WPIX, CBS, The Better Show, buzz60.com, Yahoo, AOL, and White Cherry Productions.

It was at the “PIX11 Morning News” that she got her first ‘big break’ – flying high in the skies in the “Air 11” helicopter covering traffic and breaking news.

At WPIX, Kristina created her own human interest feature series “What’s Your Wish?” helping people in need, and “The Behr Hunt.”  Kristina also worked as a reporter covering some of the most important news stories in NYC history, and filled in frequently as morning traffic reporter.

She also helped launch the digital media studio at WPIX, covering a variety of stories online for Tribune’s New York flagship station in partnership with AOL.

Kristina got the chance to show off her love of all things related to lifestyle and entertainment as co-host on the nationally syndicated talk show “The Better Show.”

For nearly 8 years, Kristina has spent her time as the anchor of News 12 New Jersey’s morning show. As an anchor, Kristina has been front and center covering the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact it has had on local viewers. As host of News 12’s “State of Our Schools,” and “Education Matters,” Kristina explored the struggles of remote instruction while also showcasing a variety of engaging student programs New Jersey schools have to offer.  As a feature reporter for the News 12 Network-wide series “Road Trip: Close to Home,” Kristina travelled across the state highlighting all of the fun, family activities New Jersey has to offer.

She currently works as an anchor and producer for MeTV/WJLP providing daily news updates. Kristina also co-hosts a weekly morning news show.

Having covered a diverse range of topics throughout her career including Superstorms, political campaigns, traffic, and red carpets, Kristina is able to shift seamlessly and brings a wealth of compassionate storytelling to any subject she covers.
